Lorraine De Souza

Lorraine De Souza (M.Ed. - Educational Psychology, BCBA), is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst on the RASP List with The Autism Community Training Society of BC (ACT-BC). Lorraine is a recent graduate from the University of North Texas with a Graduate Academic Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Lorraine specializes in individualized program planning for adults and children with cognitive impairments. Having worked in the field of developmental disabilities for the past 15 years, Lorraine's training and experience has allowed her to work with a culturally diverse population, providing services ranging from front-line intervention, clinical support and supervision, teaching paraprofessionals in a multi-day behaviour management workshop, and liaising with professionals in the community to co-ordinate services for clients and families.

More recently, Lorraine has dedicated the last 13 years of her career to working as a behaviour consultant, providing sound behaviour management programs to children with autism and other related disorders using the science of ABA.

Lorraine's skill sets used in assisting each child includes:

  • Individualized program planning based solely on the child's strengths and needs 
  • Training in the child's natural environments (i.e. home, school, community)
  • Multi-disciplinary and/or inter-disciplinary team support for the child
  • Effective case management and co-ordination of team members across environments
  • Cultural sensitivity to individual differences
  • Timely follow-up with all team members to ensure program efficacy and goal achievement
  • On-going support and training for families on program implementation
